This grilled peach and burrata salad is the ultimate summer side dish. Juicy grilled peaches, creamy burrata, peppery arugula, sweet cherry tomatoes and crunchy pistachios come together with a simple honey Dijon dressing for a salad that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.
It’s easy enough for a weeknight dinner but impressive enough for a summer BBQ, Labor Day gathering, or dinner party. And if you love the combination of sweet and savory, the grilled peaches with creamy burrata and salty prosciutto are so good together.
Why You'll Love This Grilled Peach and Burrata Salad
There are few things better than a perfectly ripe summer peach, but grilling them takes them to another level. The heat caramelizes the natural sugars and makes the peaches juicy and tender while adding a subtle smoky flavor.
Paired with cool, creamy burrata and fresh greens, this salad has the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
- Easy to make: Just 10 minutes of prep and about 5 minutes on the grill.
- Perfect for summer: It makes the most of fresh seasonal peaches.
- Sweet and savory: Grilled peaches, honey and tomatoes pair beautifully with salty prosciutto and creamy burrata.
- Great for entertaining: It’s colorful, fresh and easy to serve family-style.
- Flexible: Leave out the prosciutto for a delicious vegetarian salad.
Tips for the best Grilled Peach and Burrata Salad
Choose firm peaches. Super-ripe, soft peaches can become difficult to handle on the grill. Look for peaches that are ripe and fragrant but still firm when gently pressed.
Don’t move the peaches too soon. Let them sit undisturbed for a couple of minutes so they have a chance to develop those gorgeous grill marks.
Use room-temperature burrata. Taking the burrata out of the refrigerator about 20–30 minutes before serving allows its creamy center to soften and makes it even more delicious.
Dress lightly. You don’t need to drown this salad in dressing. Start with half, then add more at the end to taste.
Serve right away. This salad is best while the peaches are still slightly warm and the burrata is creamy.
FAQs
Can I make grilled peach salad without a grill?
Absolutely! A grill pan works perfectly. You can also use a cast-iron skillet on the stovetop. Heat it over medium-high heat and cook the peaches cut-side down until they develop golden-brown grill marks.
Can I use nectarines instead of peaches?
Yes! Nectarines are an easy 1:1 substitute for peaches.
What is the best cheese for peach salad?
Burrata is one of my favorite cheeses to pair with peaches because its creamy texture balances the sweet, slightly smoky grilled fruit. Fresh mozzarella, goat cheese or feta would also work well.
Can I make this grilled peach salad vegetarian?
Yes. Simply leave out the prosciutto. The burrata, pistachios and grilled peaches provide plenty of flavor and texture.
What dressing goes with grilled peach salad?
A light honey Dijon dressing works beautifully with grilled peaches. The honey complements the sweetness of the fruit, while apple cider vinegar and Dijon add acidity and balance the creamy burrata.
Can I use canned or frozen peaches?
Fresh peaches are best for grilling because they hold their shape and develop a beautiful caramelized exterior. Canned or frozen peaches tend to be too soft for this recipe.
How do I keep the peaches from sticking to the grill?
Make sure your grill is properly preheated and lightly brush the cut side of the peaches with olive oil before grilling. Avoid moving them around while they cook so they can develop grill marks.
Salad Variations
There are so many ways to customize this salad depending on what you have on hand.
Swap the greens: Try baby spinach or mixed greens instead of arugula.
Try another cheese: Fresh mozzarella or goat cheese would both be delicious if you don’t have burrata.
Change the nuts: Walnuts, pecans or almonds can be substituted for pistachios.
Skip the prosciutto: The salad is delicious without it and makes a beautiful vegetarian summer side.
Add avocado: Creamy avocado would be a delicious addition and would make this salad even more filling.
