Tips for the Best Homemade Gushers

  • Use 100% juice for the best color and flavor.

  • Let the gelatin fully bloom before heating to avoid lumps.

  • Don’t overfill the bottom layer—just enough to form a seal.

  • A dropper or small spoon helps control filling and layering.

  • Store in the fridge for max freshness and the best texture.

FAQs

Can I use other juice flavors?
Yes! Try blueberry, mango, or orange juice—just make sure it’s 100% juice without added sugars.

What if I don’t have beet powder?
No problem! It’s optional and only used to brighten the color. The gummies will still taste great.

Can I make these vegan?
Gelatin is an animal product, but you could try agar agar powder. Just note that the texture will be firmer and less chewy.

What molds work best?
Silicone gummy or candy molds are ideal. Use small, flexible shapes that make it easy to pop them out once set. This is the mold I use to make the gushers.

Are these lunchbox-friendly?
Yes—just keep them in a cold pack to maintain firmness. They’re best chilled!
