Copycat Reeses Hearts: 4 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cups

2 Mins read

Looking for a healthier Valentine’s Day treat that is still delicious? These Copycat Reeses Hearts are the answer! Made with natural peanut butter, coconut flour, and dark chocolate, these treats are refined sugar-free and gluten-free. Plus, their heart shape makes them a delightful addition to any Love Day dessert table.

Reeses Hearts Ingredients & Accessories

Peanut Butter: I use natural peanut butter where the only ingredients are organic peanuts and sea salt. I recommend a natural peanut butter at room temperature so it’s nice and runny.

Maple Syrup: No refined sugars here! This recipe uses real maple syrup to sweeten the peanut butter.

Dark Chocolate: I make these hearts with dark chocolate because it has a lower sugar content, but feel free to use whatever chocolate you prefer!

Coconut flour: Low in carbs and high in fiber, it helps thicken the filling while keeping the recipe gluten-free.

Coconut oil: Depending on the chocolate you use, you may want to thin it out. I typically use unrefined coconut oil, but if you really do not like coconut, refined coconut oil does not have a coconut flavor.

Heart Silicone Mold: I use this mold that I purchased from Amazon.

Tips For Making Perfect Reeses Hearts

Use runny peanut butter for the best texture. If it’s too thick, the filling may be harder to mix and flatten.

Chill between layers to keep the chocolate and filling from blending together.

Add MCT oil or coconut oil to the melted chocolate for a smoother consistency and easier coating.

FAQs

Can I use almond butter instead of peanut butter?
Yes! Almond butter, cashew butter, or any other nut butter will work, though the flavor will vary slightly.

Can I use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate?
Absolutely, but milk chocolate has more sugar and fewer antioxidants, so consider this if you’re aiming for a lower-sugar treat.

How should I store these peanut butter cups?
Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze them for longer storage.
