Reindeer Bark Recipe: Fun and Festive Chocolate Treat for the Holidays!

2 Mins read

Reindeer Bark is a quick and festive holiday treat that combines the rich taste of dark chocolate with crunchy pretzels and sweet candy. This playful recipe is easy enough for kids to join in, making it a perfect holiday activity and treat all in one!

Reindeer Bark Ingredients

Dark Chocolate: Rich in antioxidants, dark chocolate can be a healthier choice with a lower sugar content and heart-friendly benefits.

Pretzels: Adding a salty crunch, pretzels balance the sweetness and provide a nice texture to the bark.

Candy Eyes & Red Candy Nose: These are decorative but can be swapped for healthier alternatives if desired, like dried cranberries for the nose and chocolate for the eyes.

Festive Sprinkles: Choose natural or dye-free options to keep this treat colorful and additive-free. These are some of my favorite dye-free Christmas sprinkles: Supernatural Christmas Softies, Supernatural Red Sanding Sugar, Watkins Green Decorating Sugar

Tips For Perfect Reindeer Bark

Use quality chocolate to ensure smooth melting and a deliciously rich flavor.

Chill until fully set before cutting to keep the decorations intact.

Customize your reindeer by using different types of nuts or dried fruit as noses or accents.

FAQs

Can I use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate?
Yes! While dark chocolate gives a richer taste and has less sugar, milk chocolate will work just as well.

What can I use instead of candy eyes?
If you don’t have candy eyes, add a mini chocolate chip to a little white chocolate, or pipe tiny dots of chocolate to create eyes.

How long does Reindeer Bark last?
Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, it lasts for up to 2 weeks.
