These gluten-free Cheezits are made with only 4 ingredients, one of which is a veggie, but you would never know! My whole family (including my husband) loves this recipe. The crackers are so perfectly cheesy and crunchy and make such a delicious snack!
Cheddar cheese – I grated a block of cheddar cheese, but if you’re short on time, you could use shredded cheese.
Grass-fed butter – I always use grass-fed butter because it is more nutritious than regular butter. It is a good source of vitamin A , vitamin K2, and the antioxidant beta carotene. It also has a higher proportion of healthy, unsaturated fats and CLA than regular butter.
Steamed baby carrots – I just used a microwaveable steam bag, but you could also steam baby carrots in a small saucepan.
Gluten free flour – I used Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 Baking Flour. Just make sure that your gluten free flour includes xanthan gum.
Pizza cutter – This is the easiest way to cut the dough into square crackers.
As my mother in law says, they taste better! The real cheese in these crackers gives them so much flavor. And the crunch is just so good! Be careful, they are addicting!
Is there anything else I can make with this dough?
This is the same dough I used for my homemade goldfish! Just roll out the dough and use a goldfish cutter to cut out the shapes.
There are orange pieces in the dough. What can I do?
The carrots haven’t broken down enough. Make sure they are softened from steaming and blend completely before adding the flour.
I absolutely love recreating my childhood favorites with more nourishing ingredients. It’s so fun to make these recipes for my kids, and I feel like I’m a kid again!
