Chocolate Covered Orange Hearts (Clementine Hearts)

2 Mins read

Looking for a simple Valentine’s Day treat that doesn’t require a lot of ingredients? These 2 Ingredient Chocolate Covered Orange Hearts are perfect!

Step 1: Cut the orange or clementine slices

First you want to peel the orange or clementine. Split it up into individual pieces. Using a sharp knife, cut the ends off of two pieces so that they can form a heart when placed together.

Step 2: Insert a toothpick

Insert a toothpick through the two cut slices to form a heart. I love these heart toothpicks.

Step 3: Cover with chocolate

Use a spoon to cover the orange or clementine with chocolate. Then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment sheet and freeze for 10 minutes.

Ingredients & Accessories

Dark chocolate:  You can use any chocolate, but I love how the ifiProvisions chocolate melts, so that is what I typically use. I have a 15% off discount (HEALTHYHOLME) if you want to try!

Toothpicks: I found these heart toothpicks at the dollar store, but you can also find them online here.

Natural sprinkles: Not necessary, but I love the added fun!

Baking sheet lined with parchment paper: For this recipe I used a half sheet pan. The parchment paper makes sure that the chocolate doesn’t stick to the pan.

Storage Tips

I recommend storing these Chocolate Covered Orange Hearts in an air tight container in the fridge. This Valentine’s Day treat doesn’t have to be refrigerated though, so it can sit out on a table during a party (as long as it’s not outside on a hot day).

FAQs

My chocolate is too thick, what can I do?

If your chocolate is too thick, I recommend adding a 1/2 tsp of coconut oil to thin it out.

My heart doesn’t look right, any advice?

Before cutting, I overlap the slices to get a heart shape that I like and then use that to guide my cuts. It may take a couple of tries!
