Keyword: easter, gluten-free, no artificial dyes, St. Patrick's Day
Servings: 4 people
- 1 lb pasta I used white rice pasta
- Natural dye red, yellow, orange, green, blue, and indigo
- 2 tbsp water per color
- 1 tsp natural dye per color
- Olive oil or melted butter
Cook the Pasta – Prepare the pasta according to package directions. Once cooked, drain and rinse under cold water to prevent sticking.
Prepare the Dye Bags – Fill sandwich-sized ziplock bags with 2 tbsp of water and 1 tsp of your chosen natural food dye. Repeat for each color.
Dye the Pasta – Divide the pasta evenly between the dye bags, seal, and gently shake to distribute the color.
Let it Sit – Place the bags in the refrigerator and let them sit until you achieve your desired hue. Darker colors absorb faster, while lighter colors (yellow, orange) may take about an hour.
Rinse & Serve – Remove pasta from the bags, rinse to remove excess dye, and toss together in a large serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil or melted butter, mix, and enjoy your beautiful rainbow pasta!
