Ingredients

  • 2 crisp apples fuji, gala, or honeycrisp work well
  • 1/2 cup full fat coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • favorite toppings chocolate chips, chopped nuts, sprinkles, pretzels, etc

Instructions

Prepare the apples:

  • Wash and slice 2 apples into thin wedges. Arrange them on a serving board or parchment-lined tray.

Make the caramel sauce:

  • In a small saucepan, combine ½ cup maple syrup and ½ cup coconut milk.
  • Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.
  • Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens into a caramel-like consistency.
  • Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons cashew butter until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the board:

  • Drizzle the warm caramel sauce evenly over the sliced apples.
  • Sprinkle with chocolate chips, chopped nuts, crushed pretzels, or festive sprinkles.

Serve and enjoy:

  • Serve immediately while the caramel is soft and gooey. This board is best enjoyed fresh!
