Looking for a simple Easter treat that is no bake and a total crowd pleaser? These Spring Chocolate Covered Apple Pops are perfect!
This is such an easy Easter dessert to make for a party or to give as a gift. Just slice an apple, insert a popsicle stick, dip in melted chocolate, decorate and enjoy!
Chocolate: I used dark chocolate, white chocolate and white chocolate dyed yellow with natural colorant. You can use any chocolate, but I love how the ifiProvisions chocolate melts, so that is what I typically use. I have a 15% off discount (HEALTHYHOLME) if you want to try! They also make the natural colorant that I used.
Large apple: Typically I use Fuji or Gala apples, but really any larger apple works!
Popsicle sticks: I just use simple wooden popsicle sticks such as these.
Shredded coconut: I recommend unsweetened coconut.
Candy nose: For the bunny, I used a candy free of artificial dyes.
Candy eyes: You can make these yourself by adding a mini chocolate chip to a dot of melted white chocolate. Or you can use ones such as these.
Pretzel Rod: If you’re gluten-free, these pretzel rods work perfectly.
Baking sheet lined with parchment paper: For this recipe I used a half sheet pan. The parchment paper makes sure that the chocolate doesn’t stick to the pan.
As long as the apple slices are completely covered in chocolate, they can be stored up to a week in an airtight container in the fridge.
My chocolate is too thick, what can I do?
If your chocolate is too thick, I recommend adding a 1/2 tsp of coconut oil to thin it out.
My popsicle sticks are coming out the side of the apple slice. How can I fix this?
Slice your apples thicker and make sure the popsicle stick is going right in the middle of the slice.
How do I keep the chocolate on the apples? Mine is not sticking.
Pat your apples dry and make sure your chocolate isn’t too thick. Some brands of chocolate seem to not dip as well. If you patted the apple dry and the chocolate is thin and you’re still not having success, you may need to lay the apple flat and spoon the chocolate on top of the apple slice, freeze for 2 minutes, flip and spoon chocolate onto the other side of the apple, freeze again.
