Why I love this 2 Ingredient Valentine's Day Bark

This is such a quick Valentine’s Day dessert to make for a party or to give as a gift. I love the hearts and how they’re made simply by dragging a chopstick (or a toothpick) through a dot of chocolate to make the Valentine’s Day Bark.

Bark Ingredients & Accessories

White chocolate:  I used white chocolate and dyed some of it pink with natural colorant. You can use any chocolate, but I love how the ifiProvisions chocolate melts, so that is what I typically use. I have a 15% off discount (HEALTHYHOLME) if you want to try! 

Sharp Knife: You can break the bark, but I prefer to cut it so that I don’t accidentally break the hearts in half. 

Natural sprinkles: Not necessary, but I love the added fun! 

Baking sheet lined with parchment paper: For this recipe I used a half sheet pan. The parchment paper makes sure that the chocolate doesn’t stick to the pan. 

Chopstick (or toothpick): This you will drag through the dot to make a heart.

How to get the heart look

After spreading white chocolate all over the pan, add dots of pink chocolate. Drag a chopstick (or toothpick) through the dot to create the heart. The chopstick will drag some of the white chocolate onto the dot and some of the pink chocolate out onto the white section. This is how you get the beautiful design on this Valentine’s Day Bark!

Storage Tips

I like to store the Valentine’s Day chocolate bark in an air tight container in the fridge since white chocolate is a softer chocolate. The bark doesn’t have to be refrigerated though, so it can sit out on a table during a party (as long as it’s not outside on a hot day).

FAQs

My chocolate is too thick, what can I do?

If your chocolate is too thick, I recommend adding a 1/2 tsp of coconut oil to thin it out. 

My heart doesn’t look right, any advice?

You can dip the chopstick in the white or pink chocolate again to somewhat fill in any places that don’t look right. Also, make sure the chocolate hasn’t begun to solidify. That will make it more difficult to drag the chocolate to make the heart.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white chocolate melted
  • 2 tbsp pink chocolate you can mix melted white chocolate with food coloring
  • pink/red sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Line a small cookie sheet with parchment paper. Pour the chocolate on the parchment paper and spread out.
  • Use a small spoon to place dots of the pink chocolate on the white chocolate. Tap the pan a couple of times to flatten the dots.
  • Use a chopstick or toothpick to create hearts by moving the chopstick vertically through the pink dot. Wipe the chopstick clean before moving on to the next dot.
  • If desired, add sprinkles, and place in the freezer for 15 minutes. Cut into pieces and enjoy!
